ZAP Kits are care packages designed to support brain health, cognitive engagement, and connection for seniors. Each kit includes activities like crossword puzzles and Sudoku, craft materials for making origami or mini plushies, and a pack of cards for games. Each kit will also have a positive message written by our volunteers! Our goal is to give seniors meaningful ways to stay engaged while also creating opportunities for volunteers to spend quality time with them.

Folding paper stars is a calming, hands-on activity that supports focus, memory, and fine motor skills. The repetitive motions can help reduce stress while encouraging mindfulness. The NeuroZAP Activity Book brings together a variety of brain-engaging activities—puzzles, coloring pages, simple exercises, and games—all in one place. Designed to be accessible and flexible, it allows residents to choose what interests them, whether they want to challenge their memory, relax creatively, or play with others.
Sudoku can support cognitive engagement by giving seniors enjoyable mental challenges. As part of each kit, NeuroZAP plans to create and design a packet of crossword and sudoku puzzles so residents have simple activities they complete on their own or enjoy with others.
These soft, squeezable stress balls are designed for both relaxation and light hand exercise. Repetitive squeezing can help reduce stress and improve hand strength and mobility, especially for those who may experience stiffness.
Colored pencils invite creativity, expression, and calm. Whether used for coloring pages, drawing, or simple doodling, they provide a gentle, open-ended activity that can be both relaxing and meaningful.
